"Semper LO-FIdelis" doit son titre à la devise de la ville de Calvi - "semper fidelis" - et au respect paradoxal d'I Burtuoni pour les "standards corses". Et aussi pour partie aux conditions de création de cet album au son "low-fidelity" : certains sons proviennent d'enregistrements au dictaphone ou au téléphone. Totalement conçu en distanciel durant une étrange année, de mars 2020 à mars 2021, il s'est construit au fil des échanges et des envois de fichiers entre Marcel Bataillard et Heni Roger. Cette correspondance musicale a donné lieu à des multiples versions d'un même morceau, ce dont on retrouve la trace dans les titres des pistes finalement retenues. Ces "chants traditionnels d'avant-garde" plongent donc leurs racines à la fois dans la tradition et dans l'électronique. Au programme : paghjella, oraison funèbre, sérénades, fake "live", chant d'exil...

"Semper LO-FIdelis" owes its title to the motto of the city of Calvi - "semper fidelis" - and to the paradoxical respect of I Burtuoni for the "Corsican standards". And also partly to the conditions of creation of this album to the "low-fidelity" sound: some recordings were made from dictaphone or telephone. Totally conceived in remote during a strange year, from March 2020 to March 2021, it was built through exchanges and file uploads between Marcel Bataillard and Henri Roger. This musical correspondence has given rise to multiple versions of the same piece, which can be found in the titles of the tracks finally chosen. These "traditional avant-garde songs" therefore have their roots in both tradition and electronics. On the program: paghjella, funeral oration, serenades, fake "live", song of exile...
